We offer a 1 or 2-dive Discover Scuba Experience for everyone who wishes to try scuba diving without taking a qualification course. Please note that no refunds are given for any dive not taken.
Junior divers 12 years and older are also welcome.
Discover Scuba Requirements
All dives are conducted from our boat. You need to know that this experience takes place in the open ocean, and we go to a dive depth of 40ft / 12m. To participate, you need to be comfortable in the ocean.
Competent ocean snorkelers will always enjoy Discover Scuba. Please check the list of personal requirements below.
- Comfortable in deep water.
- Comfortable in light ocean waves.
- Comfortable swimming in the open ocean.
- Not subject to seasickness.
- Medically fit for scuba. (There is a medical questionnaire).
If you are unsure as to whether you will enjoy scuba, then before your vacation, why not try a pool discover scuba with a local dive center at home? This is a great way for you to enjoy a fuller experience in the ocean.
Your Discover Scuba Experience
Your Discover Scuba Dive starts with a full briefing on our boat.
We start by breathing on scuba, and then we move on to learning a few safety skills to help us while we are diving. Your initial descent is completed using a line.
After that, we complete 1 or 2 dives from our boat to a maximum depth of 40ft (12M).
Our Instructor accompanies you at all times.
Discover Scuba students dive in their own separate groups. Qualified divers have their own dive leader.
There is a surface interval of around 60 minutes on the boat between dives. We provide bottled water; you may wish to bring snacks.
You will be more comfortable if you bring a rashguard (or a spare T-shirt) to go under your wetsuit.
A dive usually lasts 30 – 45 minutes. Dive time is limited by the amount of air you use.
You should not fly within 24 hrs of a Discover Scuba experience.
